- Rotary at Work: Building a New Workforce
The Rotary at Work: Building a New Workforce event held on April 16, 2012 was a huge success! We would like to thank the Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, Mark Wafer, Tim Hortons Franchisee, and Joe Dale, Project Manager, Rotary at Work, as well as our partners, the Rotary Club of Sarnia and the Sarnia Lambton Chamber of Commerce. The "Transforming Sarnia Lambton" workshop - which was held on February 8, 2012 - was a huge success! Thank you to our amazing speakers for giving everyone a good idea as to what it takes to make a business and a community innovative. A special thanks to our partners - The Research Park and the Sarnia Lambton Industrial Alliance. Finally, thank you to all those who made time to make this event a success.
- LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD Focus Groups
The Sarnia Lambton Workforce Development Board, Global Experience @ Work, the Ontario Immigrant Network, and the Sarnia-Lambton Local Immigration Partnership hosted a series of focus groups to gather Sarnia Lambton's input and perspectives on programs and services that will help plan and develop our workforce. Thank you to all those who came out and participated! Your input was much appreciated.

- Sarnia Company Nominated for Award
July 22, 2011 -- Congratulations to Central Machine and Marine Inc. are in order as the Sarnia company has been nominated for a 2011 Passport to Prosperity Employer Champion Award. The Provincial Partnership Council (PPC) awards are presented to recognize Ontario employers who demonstrate an outstanding commitment to providing “hands-on” work experiences for high school students in their communities. The PPC acknowledges that offering meaningful school-to-work opportunities for Ontario youth is a key component in building a strong, stable and talented workforce. The awards will be presented at a later date.
